Guitar Lessons in Franklin Tennessee

I love music. I love the guitar… and bass… and ukulele. I love teaching these instruments. There is satisfaction in knowing that I get to pass on to a new generation of students all of the wonderful things I have learned as a professional musician. My goal is to help students reach their musical aspirations so they can be a confident worship leader or the next major pop or country star, if that is their desire.

Currently, I have students who have what it takes to get there. My job is to bring out the best of their abilities so they can make those dreams come true. Some want to have a general knowledge of an instrument or music theory. Some just want to play along to songs on the radio. I want to help each student find out what their musical goal is and help them achieve it.

Being a homeschool dad, I understand the importance of time with your kids. Sports, homework, and life in general are always pulling at your schedule. I offer time slots throughout the day for homeschoolers so you can have the evenings free for other activities.

Instrument lessons are once a week for 30 minutes. Homeschool students get their first lesson FREE when you pay for the first month of lessons. Be sure to mention this article or the sidebar ad to receive your free lesson. You can read more about guitar lessons on my website.

How Music Lessons Lighten Homeschool Planning

It's back-to-school planning time and for homeschool families, lesson planning can often take longer than teaching. As a homeschool parent, I get it. I'm a professional guitar teacher, but in our homeschool I am the Science and Bible teacher. I know what it's like to spend 20 minutes prepping something for science class and it only gets a 20 second spotlight in the actual lesson. Combine all the subjects and that's a lot of prep time to meet the 4 hours per day of school children's needs.

That's one of the bonus benefits of music lessons for homeschoolers. Let's say your child takes guitar lessons from me as part of their education. It's a 30-minute lesson, but to truly learn an instrument, students need to practice at least 30-minutes everyday. That takes care of 2 1/2 hours of school time every week!

I am currently scheduling students for the new school year and have a few openings available (ages 6 and up). Lessons are 30-minutes, once a week and cost $130 per month (no extra charge for a 5-week month.) Hour lessons are available for advanced students. Besides guitar, I also offer lessons on bass guitar, ukulele, stage performance, songwriting, and artist development. Adult students are welcome, too!

I'm located just half a mile off I-65 (Exit 65, Hwy. 96) in Franklin. If you'd like to add guitar lessons to your homeschool plan this year, call me, Marty Keith, at 615 415 1942 or email johnmartinkeith at hotmail dot com

The purpose of this concert was to help raise funds for the Ribble Family who are adopting little “V” from Ukraine this May. The event helped a lot, however, they still have need. If you are interested in donating go to: Advantage Concerts where you can donate by paypal.

Nashville Number System - As Easy As 1 4 5

Guitar teacher Marty Keith explains why, in addition to standard charting methods, he teaches his students the Nashville Number System:

-->
"The Nashville Number System allows a player to transpose a song into any key without having to rewrite a whole new chart. It's an important charting method to learn because if you are in the recording studio or on a worship team playing a song and the singer needs the song in a higher or lower key for their voice, you have to be able to quickly transpose the entire song. Nashville Numbers allows you to look at the same chart and simply move the chord progression to any key."

Marty Keith is a requested worship leader for various churches, camp and conferences across America. He also teaches guitar lessons from his studio in Franklin, TN. Check out his YouTube channel for a video lessons.

In Edenbrooke Music's Studio Camp our students learn how to record guitar in the professional - and newly renovated studio - at Advantage Music Productions in Nashville. With the new addition of Studio Camp II several students who have previously completed Studio Camp were given the opportunity to learn how to record other instruments or vocals and learn more about record production and recording with other studio musicians.

Edenbrooke Music Organizing Benefit Concerts for Freedom's Promise

For the past few weeks Marty & I have been working hard to put together a benefit concert here in Nashville to raise funds for Freedom's Promise. The concert will feature artists that Edenbrooke Music represents. Each artist is donating their time and talent for the concert, which is such a huge blessing in itself!

If you have never heard of Freedom's Promise they are a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of human trafficking both within our community and around the world. I highly suggest you check out their website www.freedomspromise.org and subscribe to their blog to find out more about what is really going on with millions of women and young girls, not just around the world but also in our communities.

As the idea of this benefit concert evolved, we realized two things:
1.) We need sponsors to cover the financial costs of putting on such a huge event so that every penny of ticket sales can go to Freedom's Promise. (If you would like to volunteer to help us find sponsors please let me know! Its' a great resume builder and also great on college apps.)

2.) Word has gotten out in other cities and we've been asked to put together benefit concerts that would support both Freedom's Promise and that city's local human trafficking organization. There are about ten possible events at this point! This is wonderful and Marty is especially overwhelmed with excitement! However, this does mean the events will cost more because we obviously have to pay the artists and their would be travel costs involved, so we need a team of volunteers in each event city to help raise support.

This cause is huge to Marty & I both and many others in our circle. Get informed. Pray about it. See if there is some way you can help!

Singer/songwriter Maurice Carter was the special guest performer. He opened the Edenbrooke recital singing "You Are Redeemed", a song written by Mr. Carter and John Martin Keith.

Edenbrooke Music would like to thank the Brentwood YMCA, Jason Salzer, Mark O'Rear, Maurice Carter and all the students who performed, and the parents for making this our best day of recitals!
